Back in November, John Perkins set himself a project: to finally tell the full story of Juniper: The Cookbook, a retrospective cookbook/memoir, weaving together essays, recipes, and the moments that shaped the restaurant along the way.

To tell that story properly, it meant going all the way back to the beginning—2013, before Juniper had a name, a dining room, or a long-term address. Three pop-up restaurants came first. Each was different. Each was temporary. And each played a role in what Juniper eventually became.

This dinner brings two of those early pop-ups back to life: Le Coq and A Good Man Is Hard to Find. The menu pull directly from the original menus, revisiting the dishes, instincts, and early creative swings that laid the foundation for Juniper.
