The Maryland House

Originally founded in 2005 and reimagined in 2023, The Maryland House operates Thursday through Saturday, and hosts private events seven days a week—from breakfast meetings to dinner celebrations. Every design choice was intentional: to create a space that adapts seamlessly to both intimate gatherings and large-scale experiences.

Each area was built with its own personality yet designed to feel part of a unified story. Three stories up, the Rooftop Terrace offers sweeping views of the city’s most beautiful residential architecture, The Chase Park Plaza, Jeanne Gang's 100's Building and The Albion. The Library brings warmth and conversation to life with built-in bookshelves, sectional couches + arm chairs, and coffee tables—a refined space that feels like home. The Gallery’s glass doors, soaring ceilings and curated art displays elevate every event with a sense of sophistication and storytelling. And at the heart of it all, the Bar connects each space—serving as both the physical and emotional center of the Maryland House experience.

By blending versatility, character, and cohesion, we’ve built a venue that attracts diverse audiences, maximizes event opportunities, and deepens guest connection—all within one dynamic space.

unreal thursdays.

Every week, we host UnReal Thursdays—our elevated take on the classic house party. Designed to spark connection and keep energy flowing, the night features large shared platters, communal tables, and open glass doors that blur the lines between spaces. We categorize our parties into three different styles of events—Lose Your Mind (fun parties), Build Your Brain (smart speaker series), Do Good Today (pushing our charitable arm). The layout encourages movement, mingling, and discovery, turning casual nights into epic house parties. By bringing together creative minds, good conversation, and curated vibes across the entire venue, we’ve built a weekly tradition that drives engagement, strengthens community, & keeps guests returning week after week.

The rooftop bar is designed as a multi-layered social environment that balances exclusivity with openness. Guided by business insights on member behavior, guest flow, & dwell time, the space subtly segments access without ever feeling restrictive. Thoughtful lighting—warm tones & dimmed levels—shapes mood & movement, while signature cocktails, unique menu items, local art, & custom branding create a cohesive, layered experience. The result is a rooftop that feels like a well-kept secret, welcoming both loyal members & curious first-time guests; driving engagement, dwell time, & repeat visits.
